BTS's V (real name Kim Tae-hyung)'s first outing after the release of his new single was to Chuncheon, where he is serving in the military.

The local economy was buzzing over the weekend as fans visited a family restaurant in Chuncheon, a coffee franchise where he works as a model, and a photo studio. Banners celebrating the release of his new song "FRI(END)S" (Friends) were hung in front of the 2nd Army Corps in Sinnuk-eup, Chuncheon, and his fan club announced an event for local soldiers on the 100th day of his enlistment (March 19).

While V's new digital single "FRI(END)S" (Friends) was released on March 15 and has been gaining popularity around the world, the singer (real name Kim Tae-hyung) enjoyed his daily routine with his fellow troops around Chuncheon on the same day.

On that day, various social networking services (SNS) posted photos of soldiers, who appeared to be members of V's Army's 2nd Corps, celebrating the release of his new song.

V also took to his own social media to share a greeting, writing "Hi Compose?" with a direct reference to the coffee franchise where he serves as an advertising model. Online, V also shared photos of his comrades-in-arms, including a "life snapshot" with his teammates. In these photos, Vu is seen wearing an SDT (Special Defense Teams) T-shirt and making playful faces, which brought smiles to fans' faces.

After the news of his outing broke, the location of his visit was quickly shared online. Outback Steakhouse Chuncheon, Compose Coffee Chuncheon, Kangwon National University Fumun, and Kangwon National University Fumun's Photo Lab Plus, as well as the place where the celebratory cake featured in the photo was customized (Happy Butterday, a dessert shop in Juseong-dong), proved his influence.

These businesses have been receiving visits and inquiries from fans since last weekend. "After V's visit, many fans came to us, asking for information such as what drinks he ordered," said A, an employee at Compose Coffee Gangwon National University Fumun branch. Mr. V, an employee at Outback Steakhouse, said, "Since we opened, fans have been coming in and ordering the same menu as V," adding, "Some customers even requested to be seated where V sat in their reservation requests."

Events are also planned for the 100th day of his military enlistment on April 19. Kim Tae-hyung Supporters Korea, along with Comfort Coffee's Ududumir and Myeongdong branches in Chuncheon, will give away 100 free cups of coffee and rice cakes to military personnel on that day. This is similar to the "Dear Army, Amiga" event, where the group shared free coffee with active duty soldiers at a cafe in Wonju to celebrate the birthday of member J-Hope (Jung Hoseok), who is stationed at the 36th Division in Wonju.

Meanwhile, the music video for V's new single "FRI(END)S" topped the iTunes Top Songs chart in 87 countries around the world within a day of its release, and surpassed 10 million views in two days. V is currently serving in the 2nd Army Corps in Chuncheon, South Korea, as a military police officer.
