To celebrate Jimin's 28th birthday, "Jimin Forest" was created 

Fans of the group BTS (BTS) created a "Jimin Forest" to celebrate the 28th birthday of member Jimin (real name Park Ji-min).

According to the Seoul Environment Association on the 30th, about 800 fans of Jimin collected donations and planted 500 trees with the Seoul Environment Association at the Hangang Park in Jamwon, Seocho-gu, Seoul on the 29th to create the "Jimin Forest No. 1."

Earlier, Jimin's fans announced on SNS in March that they would carry out a "Jimin Forest Creation Project" named "JM Sylvania" to celebrate Jimin's birthday on October 13 this year. "JM Sylvania" is a project name created by combining "Sylvania," which means "forest" in Latin, and Jimin's English abbreviation. 

As a result of voluntary fundraising activities by fans, the target amount of 30 million won closed in 1 hour and 41 minutes. Jimin's fans signed an agreement with the Seoul Environmental to donate Jimin Forest on the 7th of this month and paid 30 million won in donations.

"BTS' good influence leads to environmental protection activities" This is not the first time that fans in BTS have gone out to "create a forest" to respond to the climate crisis and create a resting place for citizens in the name of their beloved "star." BTS Fans of each member have been making "RM Forest," "Jungkook Forest," and "Taehyung (V) Forest" with the Seoul Environmental Organ so far. 

The Seoul Environmental Organ said, "The good influence of the members of the BTS has led to environmental protection activities by fans." Members of BTS have mentioned their interest in the climate crisis in speeches to the United Nations.

"We look forward to restoring the nature of the Han River and promoting biodiversity."

An official from JM Sylvania Project said, "After a long time of thought, we decided to create a 'Jimin Forest', a space that makes happy memories with those who love Jimin," adding, "We hope it will be reborn as a forest that responds to climate change in the future."
